The Tony Football Excellence Programme (TFEP) has selected talented children to play football in Rwanda, in addition to those already qualified. They were selected from over 100 children who reached the final round at the national level.
This Saturday, July 12, 2025, the program concluded the process of selecting the most talented children to play football, which took place at the Kigali Pele Stadium.
This time, Tony Football Excellence selected children who will join the shared teams of under-11, under-13 and under-15.
The selected children will be accommodated in a hostel in Musanze District, and will be provided with all necessary facilities including their studies, whether regular or Ruhago.
All of them will continue to be cared for by professional coaches including those from outside Rwanda such as Israel and Portugal as well as other Tony Football Excellence staff who are responsible for monitoring their daily lives.
Tony Football Excellence Program Assistant Coach, Twagirayezu Isaac, said that according to the children they selected and those they met, their wishes will be achieved.
He said, “For the past few years, we have been working to find talented children, which shows us that there are many talents that need to be taken care of. Now we can be confident that we will achieve what we want, even though it is still early.”
The results of this camp have begun to be seen, as at various times it sends children outside Rwanda, especially to Portugal, where they go to train and hone their football skills.
TFEP has a plan to build football camps in every province in Rwanda, starting from Musanze District to Kigali City, where it will have its headquarters.
