Rwanda Education Board (MINEDUC) Announces 2025 National Examination Results Release Date and New Academic Year Calendar
The Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) has officially announced that the results of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and the Ordinary Level National Examinations (O’Level) will be released on August 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM. The announcement was made through MINEDUC’s official social media platforms.
In the same statement, MINEDUC confirmed that the 2025/2026 academic year in Rwanda will begin on September 8, 2025.
This year, more than 220,000 candidates sat for the Primary Leaving Examinations across the country, including over 120,000 girls, more than 100,000 boys, and over 600 learners with disabilities.
For comparison, in the 2023/2024 academic year, a total of 202,021 pupils took the Primary Leaving Examinations, consisting of 111,249 girls and 90,772 boys. The pass rate was outstanding, with 97% of girls and 96.6% of boys passing successfully.
At the Ordinary Level (O’Level) examinations, 143,227 candidates participated, including 79,933 girls and 63,294 boys. The results from 2023/2024 showed that 95.8% of boys passed compared to 92% of girls.
With this announcement, parents, teachers, and students are eagerly awaiting the official release of the 2025 National Examination Results in Rwanda, as the country prepares for the start of the new school year.
