Higher Education Council (HEC) is pleased to inform students who have applied for a loan to study at Rwanda Polytechnic
starting the first year of 2025-2026 that the results of their loan applications are available by visiting: https://hecmis.hec.gov.rw and clicking on: Requested loans results. The Higher Education Council (HEC) of Rwanda has officially released the student loan results for applicants intending to study at Rwanda Polytechnic for the academic year 2025–2026. This announcement specifically targets first-year students who applied for financial assistance to support their studies.
Applicants can now check the outcome of their student loan applications by visiting the HEC portal at https://hecmis.hec.gov.rw/ under the section titled Requested Loans Results. To access the results, students are required to enter their ‘Registration Number’. Once entered, the system will display the student’s loan application status and provide a downloadable confirmation slip.
Loan Distribution Criteria
The student loans for the 2025–2026 academic year are granted based on the following conditions:
50% for Tuition Fees: Students who successfully completed secondary school and received verified examination results.
50% for Living Allowances: Students who are planning to study in campuses located far from their home districts (i.e., those relocating to other provinces or urban areas).
Important Guidelines and Appeals
Loan recipients will only see a 50% approval if the provided academic records and supporting documents are incomplete or incorrect.
Students who reject the loan allocation or change their chosen field of study risk losing the loan. Any student wishing to appeal the loan decision must do so through the HECMIS platform using the “Submit your Claim” feature.
Appeals will be accepted from July 31, 2025, to August 13, 2025. No claims will be accepted after this deadline.
