🧑🏫 About the Role
The Project Coordinator – Teacher Capacity Building (TCB) Project will oversee the implementation of a nation-shaping education initiative aimed at improving teaching quality and student learning outcomes across 42 schools, impacting over 20,000 students.
You will directly manage a team of 13 dedicated mentors, working closely with school leaders, government stakeholders, and community partners to strengthen teacher capacity, foster effective pedagogy, and drive sustainable change in Rwanda’s basic education system.
📌 Key Responsibilities
✅ Project Management
- Develop and execute detailed project work plans and schedules.
- Monitor progress, ensure timely delivery of outcomes, and manage the project budget.
- Prepare accurate and insightful project reports.
✅ Team Leadership
- Supervise and support a team of 13 mentors across the country.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development and performance evaluations.
- Encourage a collaborative and high-performance culture.
✅ Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the project’s main point of contact with key stakeholders (e.g., MINEDUC, REB, NESA, NGOs).
- Organize meetings, workshops, and engagement forums.
✅ Mentorship Program Coordination
- Coordinate mentorship activities, including model lessons, co-teaching, and feedback sessions.
- Develop individualized teacher development plans.
✅ Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collaborate with the M&E team to assess teacher performance and student outcomes.
- Use data to adapt and improve project interventions.
✅ ICT Integration
- Promote the use of digital tools and platforms for teacher training and reporting.
✅ Risk Management
- Identify challenges and develop solutions to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
🎓 Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in coordinating education projects in Rwanda
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Team management and training delivery
- Teaching or mentoring in pre-school or primary schools
- Stakeholder engagement with MINEDUC, REB, NESA, etc.
- Strong skills in project management, ICT tools, and learner-centered pedagogy
